The majority of college students are living away from home and Mom. So when they feel sick they need resources close at hand to treat their illness. Here is a list of necessities for the flu season:
- Get Flu vaccines as soon as possible
- Alcohol based hand gel
- Ibuprofen
- Adequate supply of ginger ale
- Chicken broth or chicken soup
- Saltine crackers
- Tissues
- Herbal tea
- Herbal cough drops
- Surgical masks
- Thermometer
- Phone number for student health
- Seek medical attention for unrelenting nausea/vomiting/diarrhea/ or fever over 101 if unresolved by Ibuprofen
- Make sure roommate has phone number for parents in event emergent treatment is necessary.
